About this opportunity
The Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is seeking centrifuge maintenance and repair services for the National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) located in Fort Collins, Colorado. The contract will cover on-site preventive maintenance visits, performance checks, servicing, technical support, and genuine parts replacement for Beckman Coulter centrifuge equipment. Service must be performed by authorized and factory-certified technicians using original manufacturer parts, with work conducted according to factory specifications and the selected service plan coverage (Prevention Plus, Protective, or Comprehensive). The government has indicated that simplified acquisition procedures under FAR 12.201-1 will be used for contract award. The response deadline for this pre-solicitation notice is February 19, 2026, with an anticipated award date of March 16, 2026, and the point of contact is Stephen Tees at the Fort Collins facility.
This opportunity carries no set-aside designation and has been tailored for Beckman Coulter, Inc., the sole manufacturer of the equipment, as they are the only source capable of providing authorized and factory-certified technicians along with genuine original parts. The notice explicitly states that all responsible sources may submit responses for consideration, though Beckman Coulter's exclusive manufacturing status and technical expertise are emphasized as justification for the single-source intent. The contract will include one annual preventive maintenance visit with fixed maintenance costs determined by the selected service plan, though no specific dollar value or contract duration is provided in the pre-solicitation notice. The requirement is classified under NAICS Code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC Code J066 (Maintenance, Repair, and Rebuilding of Equipment—Instruments and Laboratory Equipment).
