About this opportunity
NASA Ames Research Center awarded a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to EraDrive, Inc. for commercial software development and on-orbit testing services supporting the Starling formation-flying mission on June 3, 2026.
The justification cites 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.103-1, on the basis of only one responsible source. The effort is a follow-on that extends the autonomous, space-based situational awareness capabilities of the existing flight software baseline currently operating on four 6U CubeSats in low Earth orbit. The period of performance is approximately seven months from date of award through January 20, 2027, bounded by the scheduled Starling mission end-of-life. Contract number 80ARC026P0002 was awarded June 3, 2026. The solicitation is unrestricted (no set-aside); the NAICS category is 541715 (Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences), and the PSC is DA01 (IT and Telecom - Business Application/Application Development Support Services).
