About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command has issued a Special Notice announcing their intent to award a sole source contract to UFA Inc. for an ATCoach Radar Simulator under the Total Small Business set-aside program. This notice, posted on July 22, 2025, explicitly states that it is not a request for competitive quotes and operates under FAR 13.106-1(b), which allows for non-competitive awards when only one source is deemed available to meet the specific requirement. The contract falls under the Electronic Computer Manufacturing NAICS category and involves IT and telecommunications mobile device products. The government has determined that UFA Inc. is the only available source capable of providing the required ATCoach Radar Simulator technology.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the contracting community of the government's intention to proceed with a sole source award while providing an opportunity for other interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities. Contractors have until 11:00 AM CST on July 29, 2025, to submit quotes and capability statements via email to the designated Air Force contracting officers at taylor.williams.26@us.af.mil and kimberley.alvarez.1@us.af.mil. While the government intends to award the contract non-competitively, all quotes received by the deadline will be considered as part of their evaluation process. The notice emphasizes that any decision to maintain the non-competitive approach remains solely at the government's discretion, and interested parties are encouraged to submit their qualifications and pricing information to potentially influence this determination.
