NAVSEA will award the contract under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.103-1, determining NASSCO the only responsible source capable of satisfying agency requirements; a redacted Class Justification and Approval document will be posted to SAM.gov. The two new tenders will replace the USS Emory S. Land and USS Frank Cable, each 649 feet in service. Contract line items will employ both firm fixed price and cost-type arrangements. NAICS 336611 (Ship Building and Repairing) and PSC 1925 (Special Service Vessels) apply. Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Brett Hershman, NASSCO Director Business Development & Government Relations, at brett.hershman@nassco.com or 619-361-6515.
