About this opportunity
NASA Ames Research Center is seeking to procure services for analyzing safety reports and disseminating de-identified safety information under the Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS) and related reporting systems. The ASRS collects reports from various aviation personnel including pilots, air traffic controllers, dispatchers, ground operations staff, maintenance personnel, flight attendants, and those involved in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle operations to identify current and potential deficiencies in National Airspace System performance. NASA intends to issue a sole source contract modification under FAR 6.302-1 to the existing contract 80ARC024DA001 for increased reporting services. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications electronically to Contracting Officer Jeanne Chun at jeanne.s.chun@nasa.gov by 3:00 PM Pacific time on September 19, 2025. These submissions will be evaluated solely to determine whether to conduct the acquisition on a competitive basis, though the Government retains full discretion over this determination.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is classified under NAICS code 541990 for All Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services. The current contractor identified for the modification is Booz Allen Hamilton, which holds the existing contract 80ARC024DA001. The Government has indicated this will not be acquired as a commercial item under FAR Part 12, suggesting a more complex service arrangement. The modification specifically focuses on increasing reporting services capacity, though no specific award values, quantities, or service timelines were disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The opportunity was posted on September 8, 2025, with the response deadline of September 19, 2025, providing interested parties with an 11-day window to submit their qualifications.
