About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is seeking a service-disabled veteran-owned small business to provide cleaning and maintenance services for the Maltz Aquatic Center at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Chapman Annex. The contract opportunity involves comprehensive pool service and maintenance, with strict personnel qualification requirements mandating that all assigned workers possess one of three specific aquatic facility certifications: NRPA "Aquatic Facility Operator", PHTA "Certified Pool Operator", or ASPSA "Licensed Aquatic Facility Technician". The pre-solicitation notice was posted on May 19, 2025, with responses due by May 30, 2025, indicating a relatively short response window for potential contractors. The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 561790 for "Other Services to Buildings and Dwellings" and PSC code Z1PA for "Maintenance of Recreation Facilities". While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the synopsis, the certification requirements suggest a strong emphasis on technical qualifications and professional expertise in aquatic facility management.
The contract is specifically set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, providing targeted opportunities for this designated business category. The solicitation falls under the Defense contracting sector, specifically for the Air Education and Training Command. Although the exact award value is not specified in the pre-solicitation notice, the scope appears to be for ongoing maintenance services at the Maltz Aquatic Center. The contract will likely involve routine pool maintenance, cleaning, and operational support to ensure the facility meets all health and safety standards. The narrow NAICS and PSC classifications suggest a specialized service with precise performance expectations. Potential bidders should carefully review the attached Synopsis.pdf document and be prepared to demonstrate not only the required personnel certifications but also the capability to consistently maintain a high-quality aquatic facility environment.
