About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force's Air Combat Command, specifically the 9th Reconnaissance Wing at Beale Air Force Base, is seeking to lease and rent walkthrough screening technology for an open house Air Show scheduled from June 6-8, 2025. The primary objective is to acquire screening equipment that maximizes throughput, minimizes delays, and can effectively identify individuals possessing weapons while allowing attendees to keep personal items like keys and cell phones. Contractors must submit both a technical proposal detailing equipment specifications and a management plan for technician utilization, as well as a pricing proposal with whole dollar calculations. The solicitation requires interested vendors to provide technical acceptability and complete pricing information, with questions due by December 2, 2024, and quotes due by December 9, 2024. Evaluation will focus on the technical proposal's comprehensiveness and the proposed solution's ability to meet security and efficiency requirements.
This contract opportunity is designated as a 100% Small Business set-aside, with a North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334519 for Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing. The specific equipment requirements include five Evolv Express Dual Lane Detectors, ten handheld metal detectors, twenty metal detector trays, and ten tables, with technicians required to be on-site during event hours. The place of performance is Beale Air Force Base in California, with the contract covering equipment delivery, on-site support, training, and post-event removal. While specific award value is not explicitly stated, the solicitation indicates a need for comprehensive screening solutions for three entry control points requiring a total of 26 personnel. The contract specialist Teresa Perez and Contracting Officer David Wadkins are the primary points of contact for this procurement effort.
