About this opportunity
The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is seeking to procure a 990 Micro GC Instrument with operating software from Agilent Technologies for use at their Treatment and Inspection Methods Laboratory. The procurement initially included conflicting descriptions referencing both a Crosslab Silver Service plan for a BioTek Synergy H1 hybrid Reader and a gas chromatography instrument, but was subsequently modified to clarify that the objective is to purchase a gas chromatography instrument with current operating software and refill assembly to make an existing portable field case fully operational. The instrument will be used for fumigant quantitation when developing new treatments and includes specific technical requirements such as a CP-SIL 5 CB heated channel, Luer lock inlet, Thermal Conductivity Detector, and OpenLab CDS Workstation software. The solicitation was posted on August 28, 2025, with proposals due on September 17, 2025. The contract is structured as a firm fixed supply procurement for commercial items.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting participation to small business concerns. No incumbent contractors are specifically identified in the available documentation. While specific contract values are not disclosed in the solicitation materials, the procurement involves a single line item for the 990 Micro GC Instrument with Operating Software (Product ID: G3588A) from Agilent Technologies. The instrument will be delivered to the Subtropical Horticulture Research Station in Miami, Florida, where it will support the laboratory's method development and validation work. The contract requires delivery by September 10, 2025, and the procuring agency maintains tax-exempt status for this acquisition.
