About this opportunity

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/PZIBA), on behalf of the Air Force Radiation Assessment Team (AFRAT), is procuring one AEGIS Spectrometer with a 40% GX-Detector and RDC portable HPGe gamma spectrometer system on a brand-name-only basis, with offers due August 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM EDT. This is a single-source, firm-fixed-price commercial acquisition under FAR Part 12; "or equal" products will not be evaluated. The Air Force School of Aerospace Medicines requires this specific model for compatibility with existing equipment and daily operations supporting Department of War assets; alternative models would mandate costly training overhaul. Market research, including a Sources Sought notice posted June 18, 2026, and three capability statement responses, confirmed that only the AEGIS-GX40-RDC meets all requirements, though multiple distributors are available. Delivery is required no later than 120 days after award to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The contractor must supply two complete systems, each with a 6-inch RDC-length portable spectrometer, shipping case, batteries, power supply, one-year software subscriptions (Genie-Single Spectroscopy Suite and ISOCS Efficiency Calibration), two ruggedized 14-inch Windows 10 Pro laptops with factory software and three-year licenses, on-site installation and engineer support, and operator training. All shipping, insurance, and warranty compliance are contractor-provided. CMMC Level 1 compliance is required. Award is subject to fund availability.
