About this opportunity

The United States Air Force Life Cycle Material Command (AFLCMC) is procuring engine lathes through a Request for Quote (RFQ) numbered 47QSWC25Q0104, administered by the GSA Federal Acquisition Service. The solicitation seeks a total of 13 engine lathes across two specific models: 9 units of the 3416-2111-1018 model with 18-inch center-to-center capability and 4 units of the 8054VS model with 60-inch center-to-center capability. These precision machining tools are required to enable AFLCMC to shape, cut, and finish metal and other rigid materials. The procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 12 for commercial products and services as a firm-fixed price supply contract. The government will use Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation methodology to select the winning contractor. The original quote submission deadline of June 16, 2025, was extended to June 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM Central Time through Amendment 001.

This procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside, restricting competition to qualifying small businesses registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). The contract includes a 365-day performance period and requires delivery to 25 different military installations worldwide, including locations in Alaska, Hawaii, various CONUS bases, and overseas APO/FPO addresses in Okinawa and Qatar. Contractors are responsible for shipping equipment to Continental United States (CONUS) destinations, while AFLCMC will manage Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) shipments using DD1149 documentation. The place of performance is listed as Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, though the equipment will ultimately be distributed to multiple Air Force installations globally. While specific award values are not disclosed in the public documents, the procurement represents a significant investment in precision manufacturing equipment for Air Force maintenance operations across multiple geographic locations.
