About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research for the AN/APG-83 Scalable Agile Beam Radar (SABR) system. This special notice seeks to identify potential contractors capable of providing three specific parts: Antenna Assemblies, Receiver Exciter Processors (REP), and C-130 Interior Cabin Equipment Kits for installations on military aircraft platforms. The requirement encompasses 30 AC-130J, 64 MC-130J, and 39 HC-130J aircraft plus 10% spares, totaling 147 units of each part. The Air Force is specifically looking for sources that can furnish all necessary materials, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services needed for ongoing support and sustainment of these systems. This initiative falls under the NAICS code 334511 for Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing.
The primary objective of this RFI is to identify qualified contractors with the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the sustainment requirements for the APG-83 SABR installations across multiple aircraft platforms. Interested parties have until September 30, 2025, to submit their responses to the designated Procurement Contracting Officer or Contract Specialist via email. Contractors must demonstrate their ability to maintain and calibrate all support equipment at their own or subcontractor facilities, with any replacement materials meeting or exceeding Original Equipment Manufacturer quality standards. Eligible contractors should possess expertise in sustaining and developing both software and hardware support for systems that interact with the AN/APG-83 SABR. The Air Force emphasizes that this is strictly a market research effort with no guarantee of future contract awards, and responses should include a comprehensive capability survey covering general capabilities, commerciality, and engineering services. No solicitation document currently exists, and the government will not reimburse any response preparation expenses.
