About this opportunity
The Special Notice is published by the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton San Diego. The notice describes the agency's need to purchase three advanced hearing aid verification systems, specifically the Audioscan Verifit 2, to replace the current Audioscan Verifit 1 systems used in the Audiology Department.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors that the DHA intends to sole source the procurement of the Verifit 2 systems under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The agency selected the Verifit 2 over other hearing aid testing devices due to its range of functions and the familiarity the providers have with the Audioscan interface and software, which will minimize operational downtime and retraining costs. The notice includes a disclaimer that responses received will not be considered, and the Justification and Approval for the sole source award will be published after the contract is awarded, in accordance with FAR 5.301.
