About this opportunity

The US Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), acting on behalf of Project Manager Soldier Lethality, is conducting a market survey to identify novel technologies and software modules for the XM157 Fire Control system. The XM157 is a sophisticated magnified direct view optic that currently includes features like laser range finder, environmental sensors, ballistic solver, wireless communication, compass, and digital display overlay. The Army is specifically seeking innovative capabilities that can enhance the system's performance, with key areas of interest including multi-spectral imagery, live atmospherics, aim augmentation, passive targeting, aided target detection, and threat recognition technologies. Potential vendors must submit detailed responses by March 14, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST, and must provide comprehensive company information including business size, CAGE/DUNS numbers, and contractor status. To receive the full Interface Control Document (ICD), companies are required to submit a signed DD Form 2345, completed AMSTA-AR Form 1350, and a US Government Use Non-Disclosure Agreement.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this opportunity, meaning it is open to a broad range of potential contractors. While no incumbent contractors are explicitly named, the Army is seeking technologies that can be integrated as modules to improve the XM157's existing capabilities, particularly in enhancing soldier performance and target engagement probability. The market research is focused on identifying technologies that can reduce system weight, improve spectral imaging, and provide enhanced situational awareness across various environmental conditions. Although no specific award value is mentioned, the solicitation suggests potential for multiple contract awards or technology integration contracts. The overall objective is to develop additional capabilities that can be seamlessly integrated into the XM157 system, with a focus on increasing the speed and accuracy of target engagement for military personnel.
