Description: Sources Sought – Additional capabilities for the XM157 Fire Control

The US Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of Project Manager Soldier Lethality (PM SL), located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is conducting a market survey to identify novel technologies/software that can be utilized as a module on the XM157 fire control. The XM157 is a magnified direct view optic with laser range finder, environmental sensors, ballistic solver, wireless communication, compass, and digital display overlay. The sight provides the Soldier with the capability to accurately engage targets across the range of the host weapon and provides a marked point of aim directly in the sight picture. The system increases probability of hit and enables Rifleman and Automatic Rifleman to effectively engage targets faster.

This notice is looking for information from interested companies that have novel technologies or ongoing research that would be beneficial for the XM157 system as a module and/or software that provides enhanced capability. The information can be the following, but not limited to: Brochures, sales sheet, product data sheets, digital presentations, case studies, and/or quad charts. The XM157 has a front and rear enabler interface, each of them has an eight pogo pin connector that can accommodate a range of different modules. PM SL desires capabilities which increase situational awareness and probability of hit, including, but not limited to, one or more of the following: Reduced weight multi-spectral imagery, range finding, live atmospherics, weapon orientation, spectral conversion and/or hyperspectral imagery, aim augmentation, passive targeting, aided target detection, aided target tracking, and threat recognition.

The United States Government (USG) may provide the XM157 Interface Control Document (ICD) to interested companies that provide appropriate information.
