About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking to procure an acoustic enclosure for an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) to provide mechanical and thermal isolation for nanoscale property measurements as part of the CHIPS and Science Act. The RFQ has a NAICS code of 334413 - Semiconductor and Related Device Manufacturing with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. Quotations are due by July 17, 2024 at 12pm EST and will be evaluated based on technical capability to meet the requirements and the lowest price. The solicitation includes a detailed Statement of Work with technical specifications for the acoustic enclosure.
There is no set-aside designation for this procurement. The contract will be awarded to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror without discussions. The contract will be for the supply, installation, and training on the acoustic enclosure, which must be delivered within 35 weeks of award and include a 1-year warranty. The place of performance is Gaithersburg, MD.

The following questions were recieved with the corresponding answers (see below):
Question: Regarding the item e-- "The acoustic enclosure shall provide acoustic noise isolation with sound loss of 35 to 50 dB within the range of few tens of Hz to few kHz." Does it mean it needs the isolation table needed inside or attached with the acoustic hood to reduce the vibration noise besides the sound loss as specified here?
Answer: The acoustic enclosure shall provide the specified sound loss. There is no request for an extra vibration isolation.
