About this opportunity
The National Park Service is soliciting proposals for a concession contract to provide firewood sales within Rocky Mountain National Park through Concession Contract No. CC-ROMO004-26, with an expected effective date of January 1, 2026. The Department of the Interior's National Park Service Intermountain Region is managing this procurement, which falls under the recreational services category and requires operators to provide firewood sales services to park visitors at various campgrounds. Questions regarding the prospectus must be submitted to Jennifer Parker, Commercial Services Program Lead, by 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time on May 19, 2025, while complete proposals are due by 4:00 p.m. Mountain Time on July 17, 2025. The NPS has determined this is not a qualified contract under 36 C.F.R. Part 51, meaning no preferred offeror status exists for this opportunity. The full prospectus detailing business opportunity terms, conditions, and evaluation criteria is available on the NPS concessions website, and while site visits are encouraged for offerors to familiarize themselves with campground operations, they are not mandatory for proposal submission.
This solicitation does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified offerors. An existing concessioner currently provides these services, as referenced in the notice, though no specific company name or incumbent details are provided in the solicitation documentation. The notice does not specify contract values, budget ranges, or quantity requirements, with these details presumably contained within the full prospectus document. The place of performance is located in Estes Park, Colorado, within Rocky Mountain National Park's campground facilities where firewood sales operations will be conducted. The contract duration appears to be multi-year based on the January 2026 start date, though specific performance timelines are not detailed in this amendment notice. Interested parties can register for notifications about this procurement by contacting the designated program lead with their company information and contact details.
