About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas, is conducting a Sources Sought Notice (RFI) to identify potential sources for TrillaMed Aesculap Accessories. The procurement seeks 18 line items of surgical instrument accessories, including silicone cushioning pads, silicon mats, identification tags, faceplates, and specialized locks and filters. The primary objective is to conduct market research to help define the procurement strategy for a future solicitation, with a focus on businesses capable of providing comprehensive capabilities in surgical instrumentation accessories. Interested vendors must submit a detailed response by 3 PM Central Time on March 11, 2025, via email to Jeneice Matthews. The RFI requires vendors to provide company information, business classification, available contracting vehicles, and a comprehensive capabilities statement that includes organizational experience, technical approach, consultative service capabilities, and personnel qualifications.
The procurement does not currently have a specific set-aside designation, though the NAICS code 339113 for Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing suggests a preference for small businesses. The RFI does not specify an exact award value or budget range for the potential future solicitation. Vendors are requested to submit up to three comparable contract references and demonstrate their ability to provide critical accessories for securing surgical instrumentation during sterilization at VA medical center operating suites and surgical outpatient clinics. The document emphasizes that this is a market research initiative and that the information provided will be used solely by the MEDVAMC Purchasing and Contracting Team. Responses must be submitted in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat format, limited to 8.5 x 11 inches, using 12-point font with 1-inch margins, and must be virus-checked prior to submission.
