About this opportunity

The Department of the Interior (DOI) Departmental Offices Interior Business Center is seeking information on a Universal Forensic Extraction Device (UFED) platform with software that provides digital imaging capabilities. This Request for Information (RFI) is to identify sources capable of providing 185 UFED devices with 12-month software licenses. The government is conducting market research to determine whether to set aside this requirement for small businesses, including those in socioeconomic categories like 8(a), HUBZone, and SDVOSB. Responses should be limited to 2 pages and submitted by July 10, 2024. This is an RFI only and does not constitute a solicitation; the government will not accept proposals or provide feedback on responses.

The procurement is enabled by $30M in funding from the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act for the National Guard Counterdrug Program. The devices will be used by trained National Guard Counterdrug personnel to provide analysis support, reconnaissance/observation, and other authorized counterdrug activities to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. The UFED platforms are commercial off-the-shelf and do not have a Department of Defense Line-Item Number. The applicable NAICS code is 423430 (Computer and Computer Peripheral Equipment and Software Merchant Wholesalers).
