About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs West Roxbury VA Medical Center has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole-source contract to MIM Software Inc. for MIM Software Upgrades and Support Services. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, which allows for sole-source contracting when only one responsible source exists and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The contract will provide upgrades to existing positron emission tomography (PET) software and acquire additional licenses for Y90, Cardiac, and Brain imaging capabilities for the Boston Healthcare System. The intended contractor, MIM Software Inc., is located in Beachwood, Ohio, and the procurement falls under NAICS code 513210 for Software Publishers. The contract is structured as a firm-fixed price agreement for what is described as a one-time only service.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to provide market research opportunities while maintaining the government's intent to proceed with sole-source procurement to the original equipment manufacturer. Interested contractors who believe they are qualified to provide these specialized software products and services must submit detailed documentation by July 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM EST to the contracting specialist at glorimar.estevezcortorreal@va.gov. Eligible contractors must demonstrate their capability to provide MIM software upgrades and support services that meet the specific requirements of the VA Medical Center's imaging systems. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received, and emphasizes that this notice is not a request for competitive proposals nor does it constitute an available solicitation. Any determination to move forward with competition will be based solely on the government's assessment of whether other sources can adequately satisfy the agency's specialized technical requirements.
