About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 5, is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify capable firms for procuring a commercial reach-in dual temperature refrigerator/freezer cabinet for the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. The specific item required is manufacturer part number ADT132WUTHHS, a single-door unit with half-height glass door configuration and 208/115/60/1 power specifications, classified under NAICS code 333415 (Air-Conditioning and Commercial Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC code 7320 (Kitchen Equipment and Appliances). The equipment will support critical food service operations in the Nutrition and Food Services kitchen, operating seven days per week to maintain proper food temperatures for veteran meals. Interested firms must submit responses via email to james.ferro@va.gov by 12:00 PM EST on September 2, 2025, and must include company details, socio-economic status, manufacturer/distributor information, and government contract history. The VA has not specified particular evaluation criteria since this is a market research effort rather than a formal solicitation.

This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations, though the VA expresses preference for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), with all capable firms welcome to respond. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are mentioned in the documentation. The procurement involves a single unit of the specified dual-temperature cabinet, with delivery required to Building 502, E-128 at the VA medical facility. No budget range or estimated contract value has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation phase. The timeline indicates responses are due within approximately one week of the posting date, suggesting the VA may move relatively quickly from market research to formal procurement once capable sources are identified.
