About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a Special Notice to inform industry of its intent to award a single-source contract to Sintela Inc. for the procurement of the ONYX 530001 LGDS system. This proprietary equipment is necessary to support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in their security remediation efforts for the Linear Ground Detection Systems currently deployed.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to provide the rational basis for the FAA's decision to use single-source award procedures for this procurement. The FAA has determined that Sintela is the only known source that can provide the required ONYX 530001 system, as the design is proprietary to Sintela and they have not licensed the necessary data, knowledge, or intellectual property to any other vendors. The contract will be a single Firm Fixed Price (FFP) award, and all questions must be submitted in writing to the contracting specialist by the due date of October 9, 2024. This procurement is not open to competition, and the FAA is not soliciting proposals.
