About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17 issued a notice of intent to award a sole source modification to Beckman Coulter, Inc. for prostate-testing chemistry line items, with a seven-day response window closing June 29, 2026. The modification is restricted to existing contract holders and will not be awarded based on responses received; it serves as notification that a modification will issue to Beckman Coulter absent affirmative written objection within seven days of publication.
The modification procures eight line items of Access Hybritech prostate-specific antigen testing products—free PSA and p2PSA components with associated calibrators and quality control materials (items 3025CX through 3026BG)—for the VA North Texas Healthcare System, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service in Dallas. The procurement uses firm-fixed pricing drawn from previous contracts and VA National Acquisition Center Federal Supply Schedule pricing. VA justifies the sole source award under 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) based on new VA initiatives for prostate health requiring these items added to an existing Blanket Purchase Agreement.
All responsible sources may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations within the seven-day period for consideration in determining whether comparable sources offer greater advantage to the government. Responses will not trigger a competitive award but will be evaluated to identify alternative vendors if available.
