The Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta VA Medical Center, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, for the The Netra system. The Netra system is a highly specialized piece of equipment. It is the only commercial system that combines Adaptive Optics (high lateral resolution) with both Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and cfSLO (confocal fluorescent Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopy) operating simultaneously in a single system. This provides the many advantages of multiple systems into one so that the retinal neurons and blood vessels, as well as blood flow, can be imaged simultaneously with the same instrument. This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than June 7th, 8:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
