About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 (VA Network Contracting Office 8) issued this Special Notice on February 17, 2026, announcing its intent to award a single-source, firm-fixed price contract to Polymedco Cancer Diagnostics Products LLC. The procurement is for FY26 FIT Analyzer Polymedco-Diana REAGENTS (Cost-Per-Test) consumables to be supplied to the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The contracting office justifies this non-competitive acquisition under FAR 13.106-1(b) authority, citing that only Polymedco possesses the capability to provide compatible testing reagents for the new equipment model. The consumables are medical testing products necessary to replace obsolete FIT Analyzer reagents and support high-quality disease discovery for veteran patients. The applicable NAICS code is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) with a 1,000-employee small business threshold, and the Product Service Code is 6640 (Laboratory Equipment and Supplies).

The objective of this procurement is to supply replacement reagents for the upgraded FIT Analyzer Polymedco-OC Diana platform as the current reagents and equipment become obsolete. Interested firms wishing to challenge the single-source determination must submit clear and convincing evidence of their capability to provide the required services and supplies, along with a demonstration that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Challenge responses must be submitted via email to Contract Specialist Darrin Alexander at darrin.alexander2@va.gov no later than February 19, 2025, at 13:00 Eastern Time. There are no specific eligibility criteria announced, and no solicitation package is available, as this is a notice of intent to award rather than a competitive request for quotes. The Government reserves sole discretion to determine whether to proceed with the single-source award or to re-compete the procurement based on any responses received, and it will not reimburse costs associated with submitting capability information.
