About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA VHA) is conducting market research for the Durham VA Medical Center to procure a Trios Surgical Table System and accessories. The procurement encompasses a Trios Table Base, a Spinal Surgery Top with multiple standard components, and a Radiolucent Imaging Top, along with supplementary accessories like retractor adapters and positioning pillows. Interested vendors must submit responses via email to daniel.dove@va.gov by 11:00 AM EST on May 2, 2025, providing comprehensive company details including SAM registration, capabilities statements, and compliance information. Vendors must demonstrate they are an original equipment manufacturer, authorized dealer, or authorized distributor, and provide verification documentation. The VA will evaluate responses based on companies' ability to meet technical specifications, compliance with Buy American Act, and capacity to complete the project.
The solicitation falls under NAICS code 339113 with a size standard of 800 employees, and while currently not set aside, the VA has a strong preference for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB). Pursuant to 38 U.S.C. 8127(d), the Contracting Officer will set aside the acquisition for SDVOSB/VOSB if at least two qualified, capable, and verified firms can provide offers at a fair and reasonable price. If insufficient qualified responses are received, the VA may pursue alternate set-aside strategies or full and open competition. The procurement targets a complete surgical table system with specific quantities: one table base, one spinal surgery top, one radiolucent imaging top, and various accompanying accessories. While no specific award value is mentioned, the comprehensive system and accessories suggest a significant medical equipment investment for the Durham VA Medical Center.
