Sterilizers must comprise two units with chamber sizes of approximately 26.5" × 26.5" × 63" and 20" × 20" × 38", constructed of 316L stainless steel with 15-year pressure chamber warranties. Units must operate on 480 volts, support up to 15 instrument trays per load, and offer at least 12 programmable cycles. Delivery and installation must occur within 4 weeks of order receipt and include uncrating, utility connections, testing, staff training, and removal of existing equipment. Contractors bear responsibility for incidental facility modifications necessary for installation (steam piping adjustments, electrical connections) but no structural or architectural redesign. OEM authorization documentation, detailed installation plans requiring VA Engineering and Safety Environmental Management Program System approval, and validation testing with mechanical, chemical, and biological indicators are required.
