About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 8, is conducting a market research Sources Sought for BD Pyxis automated dispensing equipment and related services at the C.W. Bill Young Veterans Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida, and the Lee County VA Healthcare Clinic. The procurement encompasses BD Pyxis ES Refrigerators, conversion of non-PROFILE to PROFILE Pyxis Medstations, and Medication Label Module Printers. Key requirements include the provision of all hardware, tools, installation, configuration, training, compliance with VHA directives and safe medication practices guidelines, interface compatibility with VistA, delivery by June 1, 2026, standard manufacturer warranty coverage, preventative maintenance, updates, and one-time installation training. The VA will evaluate responses to determine socio-economic set-aside eligibility, with the goal of identifying qualified vendors capable of supporting the equipment under current operational practices and policies. Interested vendors must submit capability statements and supply letters via email to Michael A. Shook at michael.shook@va.gov by March 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, with the VA prioritizing Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) first, followed by Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) if insufficient SDVOSB responses are received, and then Small Businesses (SB) if VOSB responses are inadequate, with potential release as unrestricted if no sufficient small business responses materialize. The specific equipment quantities include 28 units of non-PROFILE to PROFILE Pyxis Medstations conversions and 22 Medication Label Module Printers across both locations. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in this market research notice, as this pre-solicitation is issued solely for informational and planning purposes to assist the VA in determining appropriate socio-economic designations and vendor capability prior to formal solicitation. The Sources Sought Notice, identified as 36C24826Q0388, represents the initial phase of procurement planning with no guarantee of a future formal solicitation issuance. The product service code is 6515 (Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies) and the NAICS code is 339113 (Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing).
