About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 19, located in Greenwood Village, Colorado, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source procurement. The procurement is specifically for 300 Defender Portable Compression Devices (Part Number 08-0028) to be purchased from Lovell Government Services, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business based in Pensacola, Florida. This procurement is associated with the North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code 339112, which covers Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing, with a business size standard of 1,000 employees. The devices will be used at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (RMR VAMC) to enhance patient care and prevent deep vein thrombosis. The Special Notice emphasizes that this is not a competitive quote request but an informational notice about the intended sole source procurement.

Contractors interested in responding to this notice must submit their capabilities and relevant information by 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on January 17, 2025, to chris.hollingsworth@va.gov. The government seeks responses that clearly demonstrate the ability to meet the specified requirements, which may include specifications, cut sheets, brochures, or capability statements confirming product supply capabilities. While the notice is open to interested parties, the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the requirement based on received responses. Eligible contractors should note that the government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in preparing or submitting responses. The procurement aims to acquire compression devices identical to those currently in use at the medical center, ensuring consistency in equipment, training, and patient care protocols. Lovell Government Services was selected as the sole source vendor due to their unique position as the authorized Federal Supply Schedule vendor for these specific medical devices.
