About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 10 (VISN 10), Ann Arbor VAMC has issued a Notice of Intent to Sole Source a radiopharmaceutical supply contract under FAR Part 6.103-1. The Ann Arbor VAMC requires DaTscan Ioflupane, a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical, for clinical testing purposes and intends to award a firm-fixed price contract to Medi-Physics, Inc., located in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The Government has determined that Medi-Physics is the only responsible source capable of meeting this requirement, as it is the sole vendor available on the Federal Supply Schedule contract for this product. This Notice of Intent is not a competitive solicitation or formal request for proposals, and no solicitation package is currently available. The opportunity falls under NAICS code 325412 (Pharmaceutical Preparation Manufacturing) and PSC code 6505 (Drugs and Biologicals).
The primary objective of this Notice is to announce the Government's intent to enter into a sole-source contract for 20 units of DaTscan Ioflupane with Medi-Physics, Inc. However, interested parties have until 09:00 AM Eastern Time on Monday, March 16, 2026 to submit evidence demonstrating that competition would be advantageous to the Government. To challenge the sole-source determination, respondents must provide clear and convincing evidence that other sources are capable of meeting the medical and technical requirements. There are no specific eligibility criteria for submission, as this is an open notice allowing any interested party to respond with competitive justification. Interested contractors should direct inquiries to Contract Specialist Percy Johnson at percy.johnson2@va.gov regarding this opportunity.
