About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking contractors to provide Ground Support Equipment (GSE) mechanics services for the 575th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Air Force Base in Texas. The contract will support T-38 Talon aircraft depot-level maintenance operations through inspection, maintenance, and handling of specialized ground support equipment including wing sleds, dollies, racks, and transport equipment. This will be structured as a single award, Firm Fixed Price service contract with a one-year base period and four one-year option periods, requiring skilled labor but excluding personal services or inherently governmental functions. The solicitation is projected to be issued on SAM.gov between July 29 and August 5, 2025, with electronic submission procedures. The anticipated award date is on or before October 31, 2025, with contract performance beginning December 1, 2025.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 811310 for Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The contract requires a Minimum Team Complement of 8 personnel consisting of one Ground Support Equipment Mechanic Supervisor, one Lead Mechanic, and six Ground Support Equipment Mechanics, with additional "Over & Above" positions available for both lead and mechanic roles as needed. Personnel will work day shifts from 0530 to 1600 hours and must be capable of reading technical documents, performing precision measurements, identifying and treating corrosion, and maintaining complete work accountability. The Performance Work Statement emphasizes that this is a follow-on contract, suggesting there is likely an incumbent contractor currently performing these services. The contract structure includes five Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) to address the various labor categories and potential additional workforce requirements.
