About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command seeks quotes for one precision toolroom lathe and installation services through RFQ FA460026Q0081, with quotes due September 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM CDT and questions due August 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM CDT. The acquisition is set aside 100% for small business concerns under NAICS 333517, Machine Tool Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees.
Place of performance is Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska (55 MXG MOS). The lathe must meet or exceed specifications including a 3.0 to 5.0 HP motor at 480V three-phase; inverter drive with variable speed control up to 3,500 to 4,000 RPM; 11 to 12-inch swing over bed; 18 to 20-inch distance between centers; hardened and ground dovetail ways; universal quick-change gearbox for inch/metric threading; and #2 Morse Taper tailstock. Standard accessories required include 3-jaw and 4-jaw chucks, 5C collet closer, quick-change tool post, 2-axis digital readout, coolant system with pump, one-shot lubrication system, and LED work light. Minimum warranty coverage is one year for parts and preferred 90-day coverage for electrical components. The contractor must perform installation upon delivery, including electrical connection and operational verification; delivery must occur within 60 calendar days of award. The Government will provide offloading and placement and maintains existing 480V, three-phase, 25-amp electrical service within 5 feet. Alternative three-phase voltage configurations are acceptable if accompanied by manufacturer-approved transformer or conversion solutions. Machines exceeding the stated specifications will not be considered technically acceptable.
Evaluation prioritizes lowest total evaluated price among technically acceptable offers until three acceptable quotes are identified or all quotes are evaluated. Both line items—the lathe and installation—are priced on a firm fixed-price basis. Contact Andrew Avila at andrew.avila.5@us.af.mil with questions.
