About this opportunity
The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) Contracting Office intends to award a sole-source contract to JUGGERBOT 3D for maintenance and training services for a JuggerBot 3D Tradesman Series P3-44 Additive Manufacturing System. The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking semi-annual preventive maintenance, calibration, diagnostics, and operations training for the 3D printer and accompanying dryer equipment located at the facility in Bremerton, Washington. The contractor must provide Certified Additive Manufacturing Technicians and offer both remote and on-site technical support, with services including equipment inspections, motion system calibration, software updates, and comprehensive training for facility personnel. The government justifies the sole-source approach because JUGGERBOT 3D is the only authorized service provider in the United States for this specific equipment due to proprietary rights, software complexity, and machine design restrictions. Interested parties must submit capability documentation demonstrating their ability to meet these requirements by email to the Contract Specialist and Contracting Officer by July 23, 2025.
This procurement is designated as an 8(a) Sole Source contract with JUGGERBOT 3D identified as the incumbent and intended awardee based on their exclusive authorization to service this specialized 3D printing equipment. The contract period of performance will run from approximately September 18, 2025, to September 17, 2026, with four additional option years extending the potential total contract duration to five years. The contract includes a maximum allocation of $40,000 for repairs not covered under the standard support agreement, with other covered components to be repaired at no additional cost to the government. The service requirements specify preventive maintenance to be performed every six months according to Original Equipment Manufacturer instructions, ensuring proper function and extended useful life of the precision additive manufacturing system. The contract will be awarded under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) as a firm fixed service contract, with a Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition already prepared to support the sole-source determination.
