About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Hood is seeking a small business contractor to manufacture and deliver 1,800 Dragon's Teeth Replicas for the 36th Engineer Brigade Complex Obstacle Project. These replicas are specialized one-piece, plastic, 4-sided triangular pyramids measuring 160cm on each edge and 130.6cm tall, with specific wall thickness requirements for structural integrity. The project requires contractors to produce high-density polyethylene replicas with UV-resistant additives, color-matched to resemble concrete sidewalks. Interested companies must submit a three-page capabilities statement by April 24, 2025, at 5:00 pm CST to MAJ Tyler Sosebee via email. Evaluation will likely focus on the company's ability to meet precise manufacturing specifications, transportation capabilities, and compliance with military installation access requirements.
The contract is set aside exclusively for small businesses across all socioeconomic categories, with a NAICS code of 326199 and a small business size standard of 750 employees. Delivery requirements are stringent, mandating 1,400 replicas be delivered to Fort Cavazos by August 1, 2025, and the full order completed by September 30, 2025. The project requires contractor personnel to have proper installation access and comply with Fort Cavazos security regulations. While specific award value is not disclosed, the complexity of the manufacturing specifications and precise delivery requirements suggest a potentially significant contract opportunity. The project involves creating specialized obstacle replicas using rotational molding techniques, with exacting material and dimensional specifications that will require sophisticated manufacturing capabilities.
