About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Hood is soliciting bids for the rental of two outdoor diesel forklifts with a minimum 35,000-pound lifting capacity, featuring 7.5-foot long forks with 8-inch width and 7.5-foot spread. This non-personal services contract requires the selected contractor to deliver the equipment to Building 8320, Wells Street, Fort Riley, Kansas, and provide comprehensive services including equipment maintenance, repairs, delivery and pick-up, permits, and a training block for up to 10 personnel on forklift operations. Key requirements include ensuring the forklifts are in continuous working order with repair calls acknowledged within one hour and completed within 24 hours, providing government-supplied diesel fuel through a fuel card at approved refueling locations, and submitting quotes electronically in the System for Award Management (SAM) with NAICS Code 532490. The evaluation will be based on a Firm Fixed Price contract type, though specific evaluation criteria details are not explicitly outlined in the solicitation materials provided. The deadline for questions is 10:00 AM CST on January 12, 2026, with answers posted on January 13, 2026, and quotes must be returned by 10:00 AM CST on January 16, 2026.
This is a Total Small Business set-aside contract with a performance period from February 5, 2026, to February 4, 2027, and no incumbent contractor information is identified in the solicitation documents. The specific award value or budget range is not disclosed in the posted materials. Small business prime contractors are subject to subcontracting limitations, with requirements to perform at least 50 percent of the contract work themselves and restrictions on subcontracting more than 50 percent of the total contract amount to businesses that are not "similarly situated" entities. The government prefers closed-cab forklift units due to weather and environmental considerations at the installation. Place of performance is Fort Riley, Kansas 66442, with the contractor responsible for all equipment costs, safety features, and operational expenses throughout the one-year contract term.
