About this opportunity
The United States Coast Guard is seeking qualified vendors to provide and deliver one to three airboats with trailers through solicitation number 70Z02926QGALV0002. The primary evaluation criteria, in descending order of importance, are delivery timeline, condition of the item, and price, with awards going to the offeror providing the lowest price for a technically acceptable proposal. Vendors must be registered or willing to register with the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) and actively maintain that registration. The airboats must meet specific technical requirements including an 18-20 foot length constructed of marine-grade aluminum, capability to operate in 6 inches of water, a Marine Levitator MS 70/LSX 7.4L naturally aspirated engine capable of 40 knots, and accommodations for 4-5 people. The deadline for proposal submission is January 13, 2026, with the first airboat required to be delivered within 45 days of award, and any additional vessels delivered every 30 days thereafter.
This acquisition is designated as a Total Small Business Set Aside, with the contract type structured as a firm fixed price purchase order under NAICS code 336612 (Boat Building). The Coast Guard may award to multiple vendors to ensure delivery timelines are met, procuring between one and three vessels total. The place of performance is Progreso Lakes, Texas 78596, where the airboats will be delivered via FOB Destination. The solicitation incorporates commercial products contract terms and includes a mandatory pre-award conference prior to production start and optional factory and field testing witnessed by the Coast Guard. Additionally, the contract includes an option for a multi-day training session within one year of the first vessel's delivery, further expanding the scope of vendor engagement beyond the procurement itself.
