About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a sole-source Cost Plus Fixed Fee Task Order to Lockheed Martin Corporation, Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) in Archbald, Pennsylvania for the 2025 Laser Guided Training Round (LGTR) Product Improvement Program, with a contract value of $2,968,364.00. The contract, designated N0001926F1009, covers program management and engineering support to improve the BDU-59C/B training round through development and testing of a twin lug carriage for potential integration onto additional weapon platforms. The work encompasses four primary deliverables: twin lug product improvement support, supporting technical data, production of 40 twin lug test assets, and production of 5 twin lug test assets equipped with telemetry, with performance spanning from January 5, 2026 through September 30, 2027. NAVAIR determined that Lockheed Martin is the sole responsible source due to its role as the original designer and manufacturer of the LGTR system and its ownership of critical proprietary data, supported by prior market research that yielded no competing sources.
