About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is procuring intrusion detection system upgrades for the 20th Security Forces Squadron's armories at Shaw Air Force Base. The contract involves replacing existing Honeywell Vindicator IDS equipment in three armory buildings (825, 1843, and 1865) with upgraded devices featuring Windows 10/VR 22 firmware, including new panels, sensors, keypads, and duress buttons that comply with Air Force Security Forces Center specifications. All equipment must feature individual tampers programmed as alarm points, with single alarm points rather than daisy-chained configurations, and the upgraded systems must integrate with the current Security Forces Head End IDS system reporting to the Base Defense Operations Center. The government requires complete replacement of all network and IDS cabling, which must be run in conduit, with all junction boxes and splice points equipped with tampers and alarms. The solicitation was posted on June 26, 2025, with proposals due by July 30, 2025, and contractor questions and government responses were issued on July 21, 2025.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 561621 (Security Systems Services). The project involves upgrading three armory buildings constructed between 1986 and 2009, ranging in size from 130 to 810 square feet, with the work to be performed at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The government has explicitly stated that no equipment substitutions are permitted and all work must utilize Honeywell Vindicator equipment exclusively. The solicitation includes wage determination requirements under revision 26 dated June 13, 2025, indicating prevailing wage obligations for the contractor. All work must be completed during specified timeframes outlined in the statement of work, with strict adherence to security protocols given the sensitive nature of the armory facilities and their intrusion detection systems.
