About this opportunity
The 15th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS) Sortie Support Section is procuring two Spyder Cranes (Model URW547C4UBRS) to support aircraft maintenance operations both at home station and in deployed environments. The Pacific Air Forces, Department of the Air Force, requires these mini crawler cranes to meet stringent specifications including a minimum 60-foot tip height, 5,000-pound lifting capacity, cold weather package, steel pallet with fork pockets for transport, non-marking tracks, and single-person work platform capabilities. Additional requirements include all-terrain mobility, battery power for enclosed spaces, night work lighting, air certification for military aircraft transport, and comprehensive safety features such as rated capacity limiters and automatic safety systems. The evaluation will focus on price and technical capability, with the award going to the most advantageous offer that conforms to solicitation requirements. Quotes are due September 24, 2025, at 12:00 PM HST, with delivery required within 180 days after contract award (maximum 210 days allowed).
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside with a size standard of 1,250 employees, restricting competition to qualifying small businesses. The solicitation specifically references Spydercrane as the brand name manufacturer, indicating a sole source justification based on the company being the only identified manufacturer capable of meeting the unique combination of 60-foot height capability and single-person working platform requirements. The contract will be a firm-fixed-price commercial acquisition with NET 30 payment terms, and includes comprehensive on-site operator familiarization training as part of the procurement package. The quantity consists of two crane units along with associated accessories including cold weather kits, LED lighting, work platforms, shipping pallets, covers, and a 5-year warranty. Performance will take place at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam AFB, Hawaii, as specified in Amendment 1 of the solicitation.
