About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting a market research initiative for a future Indefinite Quantity Contract covering 10 National Stock Number items including electrical and mechanical components such as relays, transformers, circuit breakers, switches, motors, and valves. This sources sought notice operates under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and seeks to identify additional qualified manufacturers beyond the currently approved sources. Companies interested in becoming approved sources must submit a Source Approval Request package through DLA's Alternate Offer/Source Approval Program, demonstrating their ability to manufacture products equal to or better than the Original Equipment Manufacturer. The government is not utilizing commercial item acquisition policies for this procurement and requires sufficient documentation from interested parties to support any commercial item determinations. Companies have until September 26, 2025, to respond to this notice and must complete the provided market research questionnaire within 5 business days of receipt.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside with Snowbird Technologies Inc. currently serving as the sole approved source for all 10 NSN items. The potential contract duration ranges from 3 to 5 years, with estimated annual demand quantities varying significantly from 3 to 473 units depending on the specific item. The procurement falls under NAICS code 335312 for Motor and Generator Manufacturing and PSC category 6105 for Motors, Electrical. The market research questionnaire requests comprehensive information about potential suppliers' capabilities, including company size, manufacturing capacity, pricing structure, delivery constraints, and minimum order quantities. While no specific contract value is disclosed, the long-term nature and multi-year duration suggest a substantial procurement opportunity for qualified small business manufacturers.
