About this file
The document is a detailed Slip-In Specifications request from the Ohio Division of Forestry for a specialized firefighting water tank unit to be delivered to Zaleski State Forest. The specifications outline precise requirements for a 200-gallon polypropylene slip-in water tank unit with a 13hp Honda motor, featuring a complex pump and plumbing system designed for forestry firefighting applications. The unit must include specific components such as a Hannay Electric Rewind Hose Reel, 100 feet of 1" lightweight booster hose, a 10-foot suction hose, and comprehensive control panel and electrical system specifications. The manufacturer must be a US-based authorized factory distributor, and upon bid award, must submit blueprints for Division of Forestry approval prior to construction.
The specifications include a one-year parts and labor warranty covering manufacturers' defects for the entire assembly, with specific warranty provisions for the pump and Honda engine. Bidders are allowed to submit alternative designs with clear explanations of differences from the specified requirements, though certain specifications are marked as "no exceptions". The delivery location is specified as Zaleski State Forest in McArthur, Ohio, and the document emphasizes that the unit must be manufactured in the USA. The comprehensive specifications suggest this is a highly technical procurement aimed at ensuring reliable, high-performance firefighting equipment specifically tailored to the Ohio Division of Forestry's operational needs.
