March 12, 2020 Scope of Work 142003 Renovate Fuel Cell Hangar (Nose Dock) Bldg 1013

PART A - PROJECT DESCRIPTION

1 FUNCTION

1.1 The 137th MXS Unit requires adequate and functional facilities for Fuel Cell maintenance, Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE) maintenance, and an aircraft wash rack in support of new ISR mission requirements.

2 PROJECT VISION

2.1 The objective of this project is to provide the 137th Air Refueling Wing with an updated facility and renovated interior layout in order to provide an improved functional arrangement.

3 SCOPE

3.1 Building 1013 was constructed in 1965 as a Nose Dock. The hangar was constructed to support C-124 maintenance. This facility received a minor renovation in 1974 for C-130 maintenance operations. There have been no major renovations to this facility since. All aspects of the facility require renovation including the hangar doors, HVAC systems, and electrical systems. A new fire protection system is required, as the facility is currently functioning under a RAC 2 with a Fire Safety Deficiency rating of 1. The space requirement for the 137th ARW is 23,025sf. Scope of Work items to be accomplished under this project include, but are not limited to, the following:

3.1.1 Reconfigure admin, shop and storage space to meet current requirements.

3.1.2 Install HEF and wet pipe Fire Protection System.

3.1.3 Install a Fire Suppression system pump station

3.1.4 Replace Fire Detection System.

3.1.5 Upgrade existing facility HVAC. The hangar space will receive heating only. The

Avionics, IT Storage, and HEF Room will receive heat and air conditioning.

3.1.6 Connect all HVAC to existing Johnsons DDC control system.

3.1.7 Repair and upgrade electrical systems throughout the facility to include new padmounted transformer and secondary distribution system.

3.1.8 Integrate two adjacent apron lighting towers into the facility power.

3.1.9 Upgrade hangar lighting to a solid-state lighting system (high-bay LED fixtures) meeting UFC and industry foot-candle illumination requirements.

3.1.10 Install new Smart meters for the water lines

3.1.11 Clean existing concrete flooring in hangar space and shops and rehabilitate joints.

Provide new Fuel Resistive Resinous Flooring System.

3.1.12 Re-certify existing aircraft ground points in the hangar floor.

3.1.13 Decommission existing overhead crane system.

3.1.14 Replace all old exterior doors, including overhead roll up doors (excluding hangar doors).

3.1.15 Repair and upgrade existing hangar door power source, trolley system, safety limit switches, and door support system.

3.1.16 Deactivate existing fuselage door so it can no longer be opened. The top sectional door will be in-filled with metal panel to reduce infiltration and maintenance requirements.

3.1.17 Replace entire roof except for standing seam metal roof over dog house.
