HIGH POWER PULSE AMPLIFIER

PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The requiring activity is the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). NSWDD performs MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464 emissions and susceptibility testing to ensure warfighter safety and capability. This testing requires accurate measurement and transmission of frequency and amplitude of radio frequency (RF) signals. This new instrument will augment our current capability and will allow us to generate an increased X-Band electromagnetic environment for future E3 testing.

2.0 MINIMUM PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS

The proposed equipment must meet the following minimum specifications:

· RF Output Power across the band,

· Minimum peak power shall 30kW when configured for maximum output power

· Minimum average power shall be 9kW when configured for maximum output power and operated at 30% duty cycle

· Power, Input: max 0 dBm

· Frequency Response: 8.5-11 GHz

· Instantaneous BW: 500 MHz

· Pulse Capability

· Pulse Width: min 50nS; max 500uS

· Duty Cycle: 30%

· Pulse Input: Yes, 50 ohm, 3.3VDC TTL

· Connectors: N-Type input; WR-90 Waveguide for output

· VSWR 3:1 - ability to withstand 25% of max power reflected back into output port

· Integrated full power load to enable non-radiative operation

· Cooling: Ability for continuous operation in ambient temperatures of 50-90 degrees Fahrenheit

· Input Power: 480VAC, max 100 Amps, 60Hz

· Size: Fit within standard 48’ over the road trailer

· Be transportable by common carrier - truck

· Detailed schematics for the assembled system and the components should accompany the complete system.

· Provide appropriate replacement parts/spares to cover 6kW (20% maximum power)

· Ability for remote operation and monitoring

· Out of Band noise control: Minimum -60dBc for frequencies < 8GHz and >12GHz

3.0 REQUIREMENTS
