Prime contractors and all subcontractors, regardless of clearance level, are prohibited from publicly releasing any information such as photographs, documents or records pertaining to department projects without prior written approval from the contracting officer. This includes information released on company websites or internet forums. All project materials and records generated by contractor work become the exclusive property of the U.S. government. Similarly, contractors may not publish or disseminate through any medium, including print, broadcast or online, any articles, books or other content about department project work without advance written permission. Contractors currently publishing such information publicly must notify specified contracting officers to request approval or removal of the information. For future requests to release project information, contractors should first obtain approval from the listed contracting officers prior to publication.
The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Department of State's Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations seeking submissions to pre-qualify firms for design-build construction services for the fit-out of office space in a leased building to serve as the new United States Consulate in Durban, South Africa.
