About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) from the Space Systems Command (SSC) Weather Systems Branch seeking industry feedback and white papers on Space-Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM) capabilities.

The RFI provides background on SSC's objective to develop and implement advanced SBEM technologies to enable a comprehensive, real-time, and globally responsive environmental monitoring system from space. SSC is partnering with SpaceWERX to engage small businesses through the SBIR/STTR program, and is also soliciting input from the broader industry to support architectural design of next-generation SBEM capabilities. The RFI requests information on applicable SBEM technologies, development/testing status, scalability, integration, costs, and small business certifications. Responses are limited to 7 pages and are due by May 29, 2024. This RFI does not constitute a solicitation, and the government will not reimburse any costs associated with responding.
