About this file
This is an addendum to a bid opportunity issued by Westwood Community School District in Dearborn Heights, MI for exterior door replacement work. The addendum extends the bid due date to February 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM and adds detailed specifications around security and access control requirements. Key additions include new security drawings showing locations of card readers, door contacts, and access control panels at Robichaud High School, Thorne Elementary School, Tomlinson Middle School, and Daly Elementary School. The addendum clarifies that bids must be submitted to the school board office addressed to Stiles Simmons, Superintendent, and must include bid form, familial disclosure, Iran linked business certification, criminal background affidavit, scope of work documentation, and bid bond.
The addendum provides extensive technical specifications for the access control system, including that card readers and controllers will be owner-furnished but contractor-installed (OFCI). Wiring specifications are provided for all access control components. The system must integrate with the existing access control platform, with contractors responsible for programming new devices to work seamlessly with current infrastructure. A non-mandatory site walk was held on February 13, 2025. The addendum includes updated architectural drawings with added notes to door schedules and new security technology drawings showing device locations, riser diagrams, and cable routing details.
