About this file
This document is a Wage Rates specification for the City of Waxahachie, Texas, related to the Mustang Creek Park Improvements project. The document outlines specific requirements for contractor and subcontractor wage compliance under V.T.C.A., Government Code, Chapter 2258, which mandates prevailing wage rates for laborers, workmen, and mechanics working on the project.
The specification details key wage compliance requirements, including provisions for overtime and holiday pay at one and one-half times the basic hourly rate. The City reserves the right to conduct employee interviews to ensure wage compliance and can request detailed payroll information from the general contractor. Penalties for non-compliance include a $60 fine for each worker paid less than stipulated rates per calendar day, and potential ineligibility to bid on future city projects during the subsequent calendar year. Contractors must submit an affidavit confirming strict adherence to established prevailing wage rates and are subject to potential verification and enforcement measures by the City.
