About this file

This is a Work Write-Up document for a water heater replacement project issued by the City of Jackson, Michigan, targeting a residential property located at 122 Rockwell Street. The project involves removing an existing water heater and installing a new high-efficiency unit, with specific requirements for installation that must conform to Michigan Plumbing Code, NFPA 70, International Fuel Gas Code, and IMC standards. The contract opportunity is being managed through the City of Jackson's e-Procurement Portal, with sealed proposals being accepted for the 2025 fiscal year. Contractors are permitted to contact the homeowner directly to schedule property access and assess the project scope, and no pre-bid meeting is scheduled.

The project appears to be funded through municipal channels, with explicit requirements for contractors to comply with civil rights legislation, including Title VI and Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act, Michigan Civil Rights Act, and related equal employment opportunity standards. The work write-up specifies technical installation requirements, such as maintaining a 30-inch deep and 30-inch wide working space in front of the control side of the appliance, and notes that electrical work will be handled by separate parties. The document includes spaces for owner, contractor, and construction specialist signatures, indicating a formal process for project approval and execution.
