About this file
This document contains Questions and Answers related to a federal contract opportunity for the decommissioning and replacement of Vycon flywheel battery cabinets and Eaton UPS systems at two buildings at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland.
The key details are: The government is seeking a contractor to decommission and remove 3 existing Vycon flywheel units, deliver and install 3 new battery cabinets (1 for a 150kVA UPS and 2 for 300kVA UPS), and wire the new cabinets to the existing UPS systems. The government will not provide site photos due to security concerns, but has confirmed there is a loading dock, space to store the units on-site, and no obstacles to the UPS room. The contractor must specify an estimated delivery date, unit prices, and any commercial warranties. Award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offer. Quotes are due by August 30, 2023 and the contract will be firm-fixed price.
