Question and Answer: ANC Multi-Purpose Room W91QV1-22-R-0082

AMENDMENT 0001 W91QV1-22-R-00820001 ANC Multi-Purpose Room

Question:

Reference RFP Part 5, Paragraph(s) 5.1, Page(s) 31

"The contractor shall provide the service for the conservation of historical artifacts at ANC. Including all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items."

In terms of conservation - what is the state of the objects and historical artifacts? Our conservator would like to know more about the work needed to stabilize the objects so we may factor that into the price.

There isn't an item number specifically for conservation of objects.

Answer:

There is no requirement for any conservation. Revised PWS

AMENDMENT 0002: W91QV1-22-R-00820002 ANC Multi-Purpose Room

Question:

Is there specific spec's for each item i.e. renderings, size, materials, installation locations etc. We are a full service large format digital print, fabrication and installation firm with extensive experience working with museums and feel we would be a good fit for this project.

Answer:

1. In terms of size, the labels will very in size, depending on the amount of text. They will never exceed 12“ x 10“. They must be printed on thin material, which is museum safe. Materials that meet this criteria include vinyl and other forms of board.

2. The mounts for artifacts will be custom made of neutral plastics, with specs provided by the government.

3. Nope that the smaller items, such as labels and mounts, can simply be mailed to Arlington. They will not need, in most cases, on-site installation.

4. The outdoor signs, and the Mast of the Maine exhibit, will be larger in size. They must be constructed of durable material such as harder plastics or ceramic. It is important they remain vibrant and be able to withstand solar conditions and the weather. These signs will never exceed 4 by 8’.

5. The installation location, where necessary, will be Arlington National Cemetery. Access will be granted by the government, and the contractor will be escorted at all times by government personnel during this process. Please note, that some installation must be done after normal working hours. The government will provide access to the installation as well as an escort

6. Revised PWS
