About this file
This is Amendment 0003 to solicitation W912WJ25Q0022, issued by the US Army Corps of Engineers New England District, which extends the response deadline to January 22, 2025 at 5:00 PM Eastern and provides responses to industry questions about trough specifications and revised Statement of Work requirements.
The amendment clarifies that the drainage troughs shall be 18" wide (rather than 2 feet) and must be installed in three sections with watertight seals between sections, rather than as continuous lengths. The work involves installing four new stainless steel rain troughs at the Woonsocket Falls Dam Service Bridge in Woonsocket, RI, along with sealing four manhole access hatches and applying concrete deck/curb sealer to approximately 4,500 square feet of surface area. The period of performance is 180 days from Notice to Proceed, with work to be performed Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This remains a small business set-aside under NAICS 238190 with an estimated value between $25,000-$100,000.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
QUESTION 1: Solicitation states that rain troughs shall be approximately two (2) ft wide to catch water from additional one (1) inch drainage holes along deck expansion joints and bridge curb. Are the holes shown in information photo #4 the drainage holes? If not, where are the drainage holes located and can you provide pictures?
RESPONSE 1: Please see the additional photo included as an attachments with this amendment for the location of the drainage holes.
QUESTION 2: Since the As-Builts are pdf images embedded in a pdf, it is not possible to zoom in or expand the As-Builts to read the measurements. Can you provide copies of the As-Builts that will permit enlargement of the images?
RESPONSE 2: Larger scale As Builts are included as attachments with this amendment.
QUESTION 3: What width are the troughs required to be? Currently there is no minimum width or drawings that provide information on the width of the expansion joints and drainage holes.
RESPONSE 3: Please refer to the revised Statement of Work. Troughs shall be 18” wide.
QUESTION 4: Stainless steel can only be milled to a length of 10 ft. maximum. This makes a “continuous length” rain trough of 17 ft. not feasible as required per the specifications provided. What is acceptable?
RESPONSE 4: Please refer to the revised Statement of Work. The troughs will consist of three (3) sections, with one span in the middle and two spans on each end. The Contractor must ensure a watertight seal between all sections.
